Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award was founded in 1956 by the Duke himself, Prince Philip. The award is available in 144 different nations across the globe, beginning in the United Kingdom. It is comprised of 3 levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level gets progressively more difficult with an increase in timescales for each of the 4 or 5 sections. For Bronze and Silver there are 4 sections: Volunteering, Skills, Physical and the Expedition. Gold has the same sections plus a Residential section.
